Not every cat wants to be a lap cat — and that’s okay! ACCT Philly’s Find Your Own Francine campaign celebrates the cats who march to the beat of their own drum. These are the independent, spirited, or shy cats who may not thrive in a traditional indoor home but still deserve love, safety, and a place to belong.

Through our Working Cat Adoption Program, we match these unique felines with non-traditional adopters — people and businesses who can provide safe spaces where cats can live freely while still receiving care. From barns and warehouses to breweries, workshops, nurseries, and even offices, these cats bring personality and purpose wherever they go. An added bonus? Their mere presence often helps keep the mice at bay!

The campaign was inspired by Francine, a working cat at a Virginia Lowe’s, who went viral after she was missing for three weeks. She was found and welcomed back with the blue carpet rolled out for her. Our hope is that Francine will help other cats who haven’t been as lucky as she has, find homes. Every cat, no matter how independent, deserves a chance to shine, and we’re ready to help businesses Find their own Francine today by not only providing free working cat adoptions, but also providing adopters with their “Francine starter kit,” consisting of a crate, litterbox and litter, a den to hide in and a 50lb bag of cat food. All that’s missing is your working cat!
