How to Help

ACCT Philly is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider, serving the City of Philadelphia by contract. ACCT Philly manages the city’s animal shelter facility in North Philadelphia, handling nearly 18,000 animals, from dogs and cats to small animals, reptiles, birds, and wildlife, annually. In the first three months of 2024, we have taken in 3,961 animals, which is a little over 1,000 a month. We continue to do all we can to keep families together, reunite pets with their families, and find homes for the animals here at our shelter. With summer being the busiest time of the year, we are going to need more help than ever. We need your help!

We often hear that many people do not know what ACCT is. You can help by spreading the word about us and sharing this information. Take a look below on how to help.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Foster a Pet: Consider fostering if adoption isn’t currently feasible! We’re particularly in need of loving homes for larger, adult dogs, bottle baby kittens, and adult cats who are frightened at the shelter. Even if you can only foster short term, it makes a world of difference. If you’re unsure about how to get started with fostering, don’t worry! You can easily learn more about the fostering process or reaching out to us directly at foster@acctphilly.org!

Donate: More animals coming into the shelter means more resources are needed to care for them. Donations may be made here to support the daily care, medicine, and food needed for hundreds of pets in the shelter. Check out the items we need on our Wishlist or Amazon Wishlist!

Share Lost and Found Pets: ACCT Philly posts all pets that are lost or were found on our website and on a Facebook page.  Sharing these pets will help them get back home faster.

Social Media: To stay updated on our latest news, events, and adorable animal stories, follow us on our social media channels! You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
