Love Local Dogs – Rescue Placement
DOGS AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE PLACEMENT
URGENT TIMESTAMPED DOGS!
This section lists the current, at risk, timestamped dogs. These are dogs who have become at risk for euthanasia on the date they are timestamped due to a medical or behavioral condition that is beyond ACCT’s capacity for care, physical or mental deterioration due to length of stay in the kennel environment, a lack of space to house the animals, or a combination of any of the above. If you are an approved Love Local Partner and are able to confirm for one of our urgent, Timestamped Canines, please email Lifesaving@acctphilly.org
**Adoptable Timestamped dogs are also listed in our available for adoption section. If you are a member of the public who wishes to adopt an Adoptable Timestamp dog, please visit ACCT Philly at 111 W Hunting Park Avenue during our adoption hours or email adopt@acctphilly.org. See our required steps for adoption, here. Additionally, we have many dogs who are available for adoption at ACCT Philly, but would also love placement with a Love Local Partner! Please take a look at the rest of our dogs on our page for adoptable dogs.
URGENT
We currently have an urgent need for the dogs in two of our isolation rooms to find foster through August 25th at a minimum, or rescue or adopter placement due to them having been exposed to a contagious respiratory virus called pneumovirus. This section lists those dogs. We do not want that spreading, so these dogs must be quarantined. However, we must also make space for the dogs in our general population who break with URI symptoms. We currently only have one room available for those dogs, and so these 18 dogs must find placement so that we can create more room, while still giving these dogs the best chance at finding forever homes.
All dogs in these two isolation rooms are great and have no significant behavioral concerns, most have had good dog meets with several pending, and only two are even noted to be fearful but are still friendly. Some are already altered, and any rescue taking an exposed dog will have their spay/neuter done at ACCT or a partner once they are clear, we are working on the logistical part of that. Any exposed dog pulled will also come with a $500 incentive grant for the rescue.
If you are an approved Love Local Partner and are able to confirm for one of these great dogs, please email Lifesaving@acctphilly.org

Dogs in general isolation
This section lists dogs who are currently in our Isolation 2 room. They were moved into isolation after the dogs exposed to pneumovirus had been moved into Isolation 3 and 1. These dogs are scheduled for 7 days in isolation for symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. After that, they are moved back into general population. As we currently only have 7 spaces for dogs in this category, dogs in this room are also urgently needing to leave to create space for incoming dogs.
The dogs in this room are great and have no significant behavioral concerns, have had good dog meets. Some are already altered, and any rescue taking an isolation dog will have their spay/neuter done at ACCT or a partner once they are clear, we are working on the logistical part of that. Any exposed dog pulled will also come with a $500 incentive grant for the rescue.
If you are an approved Love Local Partner and are able to confirm for one of these great dogs, please email Lifesaving@acctphilly.org If you’re interested in fostering, please make sure to fill out a foster application here.

TREATABLE MEDICAL AND BEHAVIOR CANINES
This section lists dogs who have been noted to have medical issues that are believed to be treatable; that are showing in-kennel stress behaviors such as hard barking or leash biting; or that have behavioral history reported from the owner or community at the time of shelter admission, such as minor bite histories (either human or animal) where skin has been broken and a rabies observation was conducted.
Although we will make every effort to time-stamp dogs that have medical issues; or behavioral histories, but that are not considered a risk to the public, we cannot guarantee that dogs listed in this section will be given a Timestamp, as in some instances their health might decline rapidly, or in instances where behavior is the consideration, where their behavior with staff or our housing capacity may result in selection for euthanasia and not formal promotion.
