Transport Foster FAQS

What is a transport foster?

A transport foster is someone who temporarily fosters an animal that’s scheduled to travel to another shelter or rescue. These fosters provide a safe, loving home during the quarantine period (usually about 4 weeks) until the animal is ready to move on to their next stop toward adoption.

How long do I have to foster for?

We ask that fosters commit to at least 4 weeks, though some animals may need a little longer depending on their individual needs.

How far do I have to live from ACCT Philly to be eligible to foster?

We ask that fosters live within 90 minutes of the shelter to ensure animals can return for veterinary care or other needs.
