Tyson first arrived at ACCT Philly in July of 2021 as a stray, but after a few short days, he was reunited with his owners. However, over the following two years, Tyson returned to ACCT five times, with his most recent visit in March of 2023. Despite spending a month at the shelter waiting for adoption, he unfortunately did not find a new family. As a result, he was timestamped for length of stay but found placement in foster through ACCT.
While in foster care, Tyson’s foster family worked tirelessly to promote him in the hopes of finding him a forever home. They even organized an adoption event, but unfortunately, no one showed up to meet him. Nonetheless, his fosters ensured he felt loved and cherished, including taking him out for enjoyable days in the park.
After spending 9 months in foster care with zero applicants, Tyson’s fosters decided to officially adopt him on January 27th, 2024 and officially make him a part of their family.
Here is what they had to say:
“Tyson has been in our care for 9 months and received 0 inquiries. Throughout those 9 months Tyson has been doing really well by being in a loving home that prioritizes routine and stability. We have a quiet home where he is able to rest and feel comfortable. He’s the best boy and we feel lucky to have picked him up on his timestamp deadline day.”
